How Our Past Changes Our Future

How Our Past Changes Our Future

Since 1993 I have been raising funds for numerous organizations. For a couple years I helped Wal-Mart with a United Way basketball campaign in Syracuse. Then when my daughter was born I spent many years in the Children's Miracle Network campaign for Eckerd Drug and Rite Aid Stores. When we started Therun4life in 2007 we worked for local charities. We advocated for University Hospital, Golisano Children's Hospitals, Alyssa's Run, and Boston Children's Hospital. We helped out With Herman Ave elementary walk-a-thon and Girl Scouts. We have joined teams that made a big impact. We have been a selfless family working for the charity world. Last year alone we were excited to be part of a Boston Children Hospital team that raised more than $2 million dollars for BCH. We attended the BCH luncheon and witnessed child survivors speak. It was one of the most moving experiences of my life. These past experiences will lead to 2010 being a great year!

Bringing Change in 2010

I want to thank all of the past and present run4life supporters. I have met many wonderful people since the start of our vision in 2007. We have made many mistakes but our heart was always in the right place. I won't lie and say that it has been easy. I am not perfect. All of the hardships faced brings about frustration within yourself. I ask you to put yourself in our shoes. Battling with our children and dealing with the car accidents. I will say it has changed me. It has taught me that time is short. You have to stand up and go for your dreams. Whether they are big or small. No one will reach them for you. 2009 was a very hard year and I am glad that it is over and that our new push in 2010 will be here. I know that many people loved some events that we brought last year. I know that some are not happy about us not bringing back certain events. To the people that I have been receiving the emails from, I say the following:

"You can never make everyone happy. Sometimes some have agendas. Sometimes they aren't 100% good. You do the best you can with what you have. I would like to think that we are ALL 100% good inside!"

New Ventures in 2010

2010 will bring the biggest year for therun4life Inc. After the event this weekend I am taking some time to get the organization ready and attend classes in Oregon to sharpen my skills. We have an upcoming schedule that breeds excitement.
